Dr. Bunte is a national expert with over 10 years of experience researching, teaching, and treating vascular disease. He is board certified in Cardiovascular Medicine, Interventional Cardiology, Vascular Ultrasound, and Vascular and Endovascular Medicine. Dr. Bunte is the founder and CEO of Wobegon Health, providing professional consultative services for the medical device, medical technology, pharmaceutical, and health services industry.

Dr. Bunte earned his MD from the University of Minnesota where he also completed internal medicine residency and a chief residency. He trained in cardiology and interventional cardiology at the Cleveland Clinic, completing training as chief interventional cardiology fellow. During fellowship training, he also completed a MS in Clinical Research at Case Western Reserve University in 2014. In 2018, he completed Physician Leadership Certification at UMKC Bloch School. In June of 2024, he enrolled in the healthcare-focused MBA program at Pittsburg State University.

Dr. Bunte serves a variety of local and national leadership roles with the American Heart Association, Society of Coronary Angiography and Intervention, and the American Limb Preservation Society. He is a Board Member of Healthcare for Action PAC. He serves locally on the American Heart Association (AHA) Kansas Chapter Advocacy Committee and nationally on AHA's PAD National Action Plan.

Dr. Bunte is passionate about supporting the transformation of cardiovascular care to one driven by high quality and exceptional outcomes and that aligns with sustainable eXorts to broadly incentivize value. To pursue those ambitions, he departed the Saint Luke’s Mid America Heart Institute in November 2024 after 10 years of service, where he led innovative care improvement programs for patients with complex wounds and ambulatory vascular disease, ensuring consistent delivery of evidence-based, equitable, culturally sensitive, holistic care to improve limb-related health status and cardiovascular outcomes.
